2015 Laity

Opaque with a deep purple hue and a glass-tinting swirl. Dark blackberry fruit welcomes the nose. The palate has a slight smoky oak influence with a chewy meatiness resembling a Northern Rhone wine. Finishes with a chocolate-covered blueberry essence, and accents of black cherries, blackberries, and sugar plum jam. Added complexities with notes of flowers, spice, earth, chocolate, licorice, crushed pepper and truffles. Enjoy with braised and grilled meats in the best of company. If you happen to be an ambitious type, a duck breast served with port-soaked dried plums stuffed with foie gras mousse would suffice. 28 months, 25% French Oak. 159 cases bottled.
